How will my items be delivered to me?
We can only process online orders that have a UK delivery address. Once you have successfully placed your order with us we aim to process your order within 2 working days and deliver your items to you as quickly as possible but please note that products sold on this website are made to order and are delivered by different courier companies depending on product size and weight. Subsequently you may receive your order in two or more separate deliveries and delivery times will vary depending on the products you have ordered.
What are your delivery times
We use multiple courier companies to deliver items sold on this website. When ordering furniture, lighting and mirrors online from us you should allow a minimum of 20 working days from the date your order is dispatched from our workshop to receive your delivery.
Can I request express delivery or a specific day or time for my online order to be delivered?
No, not through the online checkout. Please complete an online enquiry form before placing your order, detailing the type of delivery you require and we will let you know if this can be arranged. Depending on the product, we use either a standard UPS delivery service or a specialist courier to deliver your items.
I have received my order but would like to return it, what should I do?
The Douglas Orde returns procedure varies depending on the type of product that you have purchased. If you would like to return an item you need to email firstname.lastname@example.org with your order number within 5 working days of receiving your order. We will then email you with instructions on what to do next.
I have received my item but it has been damaged, what do I do?
Please email email@example.com as soon as you have received your order to let us know that it has been damaged so that we can arrange for a replacement to be sent to you.
Product care & information
Table lamps & lamp shades
When using our range of Umbra I lampshades we recommend using LED 46W (60W) E27 light bulbs. Our lamps are wired in high quality clear cable and supplied with a clear rocker switch and clear 3 pin, fused UK plug (BS 1363).
Each Douglas Orde lamp has been constructed and supplied under The Lighting Association’s Code of Practice to meet UK and European Legislation.
How do I clean acrylic?
Acrylic care consists of no more than normal wipe-cleaning to keep it looking new but care should be taken to avoid scratches.
Use only a very soft damp cloth when cleaning acrylic surfaces. It is possible to scratch acrylic, so NEVER use any scouring compounds or chemical cleaners or other glass cleaners (even if they are environmentally friendly, organic or non-scented). Should anything stick to an acrylic surface (such as an adhesive label) do not use any type of solvent.
We recommend using NOVUS polishing products, available to purchase in the Accessories Section. Also, always use a new or separate cloth for your acrylic care.
